Welcome to Buckshaw Primary School
On behalf of everyone at Buckshaw; pupils, teachers, parents and governors, I would like to thank you for your interest in the school, and officially welcome you to the school’s website.
As well as being a primary school, we also have a children’s centre, nursery for 2-4 year olds and host Chorley School Sports Partnership.
Our ethos can be summed up in the following four words:
Live, Love, Laugh, Learn!
· We provide a happy, caring, safe, secure and supportive environment where we believe children experience ‘real’ learning that has been tailored to their needs.
· We invest time and energy in ensuring that every child’s ‘Social and Emotional well being’ are the best they can be.
· We guarantee that good order and discipline are preserved to enable all children to achieve academic and personal excellence, thus developing their talents for use in later life.
Your confidence in a school comes from knowing and understanding what is happening within it. We hope to extend your knowledge, through regular contact and discussion. This will help develop a mutual understanding of, and responsibility for, the education of your child.
Parents are the key to happy and successful primary schools, and here at Buckshaw we endeavour to work together towards providing the very best we can for you and your children. Staff value the support and commitment of parents in helping us raise achievement and maintain standards. Our current parents appreciate the support and assistance we give them – we aim to be effective partners in the process of learning.
We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This web site aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated
information for both parents and pupils. If you would like to visit us and seeBuckshaw at work, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be delighted to show you round, as this is the only true way to assess how successful we are!
